Founded in 1968, Youtheatre is Quebec’s oldest professional theatre company creating work for young audiences. Youtheatre’s mandate is to engage its audience through compelling theatre, which provokes, questions, challenges and entertains. Our major area of focus is the creation, development and production of new works by the finest Canadian playwrights. The Canada Council for the Arts has recognized Youtheatre as a leader among Canadian theatre companies, citing the company’s “achievements in maintaining high production standards” as well as, “the depth of its commitment to developing new work and original voices”.

Each year, Youtheatre produces two works for Quebec audiences and tours productions from its repertoire nationally and internationally. Since 2000, Youtheatre has been presenting work in French and considers the francophone community an important part of its audience.
