THE QUÉBEC ENGLISH-LANGUAGE PLAYWRIGHTS’ UNIT
Reflecting The English-Language Communities And Diversity Of Québec On Stages Across The Province
Infinithéâtre’s The Unit is comprised of a group of seven wildly talented playwrights six of whom were each sponsored by a different English-language Québec theatre and one of whom was sponsored by a theatre in St. John’s Newfoundland. Playwrights from across Québec were invited to submit an early draft of a play they were currently writing and an independent selection committee handpicked the final members of The Unit from an overwhelming amount of submissions.
The Unit reflects The English-Language Communities And Diversity Of Québec On Stages Across The Province. Members take part in bi-monthly group dramaturgical sessions and in addition their projects also benefit from the one-on-one attention of a play dramaturge. The Unit culminates in a week-long festival of staged readings aims to garner interest from artistic directors across Québec and Canada in future programming of the plays.
The Unit is run by Infinithéâtre and provides a window of input from the theatres that have a play in development.

Title: Customer Outreach Coordinator
Reports to: Director of Communications
Responsible to: Artistic/Executive Director and Director of Communications
-During the regular theatre season, phone single-ticket patrons and offer the opportunity to upgrade by using the purchase of their ticket and become a four, five or six-play subscriber.
-At renewal time, phone and remind subscribers, that they need to renew before a certain date to be eligible to win prizes, and take care of the renewal.
-Use the aforementioned responsibilities to informally gather information on the patrons’ theatre going experience. For instance, hear the grievances of a lapsed subscriber and if possible offer them solutions and incentives to come back.
-We are calling patrons who know Centaur theatre and have seen at least one play in the last 2 years.

Community Theatre Jury & Registration
The Montreal English Theatre Awards (METAs) are currently recruiting volunteers to join its Community Theatre Jury for the 2016-17 season.
Jurors will have to attend all META-registered community theatre productions (approximately 10 productions throughout the year) and vote by secret ballot at the end of the season. The Outstanding Community Production Award will be announced at the Annual Awards Ceremony. Check out METAs.ca to find out more.

MONTREAL, June 2016 –The English Language Arts Network (ELAN) celebrates the return ofArts Alive! Québec. Between June and September, Hudson, Quebec City, Huntingdon, Knowlton, Wakefieldand Montreal's West Island, will host weekend celebrations of Quebec arts and culture. Some communities focus around a main venue and its environs; others transform the entire town. Programming is highly individual, reflecting local tastes, arts and cultures. There’s something different to experience and taste at each region's event, from local artists and visiting headliners to puppet shows, literary activities, contemporary dance, theatre performances, visual arts, chamber music, film, and even a Celtic party! On offer are indoor and outdoor events for all ages, including hands-on creative activities led by musicians, theatre professionals, dancers, filmmakers, and craftspeople. Through the universal language of art, Arts Alive! Québec’s inclusive, family-friendly atmosphere builds bridges between English-speaking and French-speaking communities. Many free events.

PEARL is a contemporary dance and theatre piece based on the life of Pearl S Buck playing at Montreal's historic Imperial Theatre (1432 Bleury) from June 14 to 18.
PEARL are offering complimentary tickets to ELAN members and supporters to the performances on June 14, 15 and 16. These tickets are given on a first-come-first-serve basis and are available by RSVP.
